About Us
LILY'S INDIAN VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT
The family business from which Lily’s has been founded started in 1972 by husband and wife Mr PG Sachdev and Mrs Lilawati Sachdev – PG lovingly called his wife Lily.
Lily used to make all the savouries by hand and all these items sold out quickly in their small shop on Cotton Street East, Ashton–Under–Lyne, this was where the whole journey started.
Gradually their sons Harish and Rajesh joined the business, as did all the other members of the family. Everyone worked as a team, all the Indian sweets were freshly made by the family, and as a result the business prospered and grew bigger and stronger.
Unfortunately Lily passed away before the restaurant was set up, so in her memory our authentic Indian Vegetarian Restaurant is named Lily’s; a loving legacy she has left behind for all of us.
All team members have a huge passion for food and we love to see all our customers leaving happy and satisfied. We have sourced our experienced chefs from all over North India, South India, Rajastan and more, everything is freshly made by them, so all the flavours you taste are as if you were actually visiting India!
We have been at the number one place in TripAdvisor for a few years and have been selected in the ‘Good Food Guide’ for the previous 5 years.
We also won the Best Vegetarian Offering award in the Manchester Food & Drink festival(2018), the Best Neighbourhood Restaurant in the Manchester Food & Drink Festival (2019), we have also been the winner of the Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Greater Manchester, awarded by MEN.
